It was not third time lucky for Freddy Deeb as he could not claim his third WPT Legends of Poker title.

There were 786 poker players competing at the 2015 WPT Legends of Poker tournament and the title eventually went to Mike Shariati. It was a loss that could not be so easily digested by Freddy Deeb as he came very close to winning the title and had to miss out to Shariati who made a very good comeback to win it.

This was the $3,700 buy-in main event at the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker held at the Bicycle casino in California. The event was a thrilling and exciting one and Freddy was looking to get himself alongside Anthony Zinno, Gus Hansen, and Carlos Mortensen to win the WPT title three times. But, that did not happen despite Deeb showing his class and why he is regarded as one of the legends of the poker game.

Deeb played really well and made everyone one of his opponents bit the dust until he faced a toughie in Mike. This battle between Mike and Deeb turned out to be one of the most thrilling head-up battles in the WPT history. The battle lasted for 117 hands and both the players battled like anything. Shariati made a very good comeback when the chips were down and gave Deeb a very tough fight till the end.

Mike Shariati by virtue of this win amassed $675,942 as prize money. Deeb was second best in the 2015 WPT Legends of Poker event and took home prize money of $383,090. Both Shariati and Deeb had praises for each other after the battle. Shariati said that he was very happy to play in the event and to compete with the likes of Freddy Deeb. He hopes for better things in the future WPT events.
